Radiant Heat

Radiant heating is not a new concept as the primary source of radiant energy is the sun! CosyStone heaters work in the same way by warming people directly. Although air temperatures remain the same, standing in direct sunshine feels so much warmer than in the shade.

through space without heating the space itself, only heating up the surface areas it reaches.

How does Radiant Heating Work?
Standard heating systems work by delivering convection currents of high temperatures to warm the air, in this way the occupants feel warm. Radiant heat actually warms the occupants and objects within the room space and so is a benefit to the environment.

Energy and Cost Efficiency
Research indicates that people feel more comfortable at lower temperatures with radiant heating and therefore the thermostat temperature can be turned down by as much as 6ºC without compromising comfort. If a reduction in temperature of 1% can save as much as 8% of your heating bill, the potential savings are evident.

Comfortable
In conventionally heated rooms, because hot air rises, the upper third of the room space is the hottest, creating the warm head cold feet experience. With radiant heat the room temperature is less stratified and therefore more comfortable.

Flexible
Radiant heat is ideal for all areas of the home, especially where rooms have high ceilings, large air change rates or poor insulation.  Energy use can be controlled according to individual area use or requirements.

Healthy
Air circulation distributes dust and germs, but this situation is dramatically reduced when using radiant heating. Where spread of infection is a serious concern or a clean environment for allergy sufferers is a priority, the use of radiant heating is part of an effective solution.
